THE HART COUNTY NEWS-HERALD I print@jpmews.com July 1 I, 2013 A3 REGIONAL HOWARD AHTHONY HEATTER EDMONTON - Howard Anthony Heatter, age 67, of Edmonton died Friday, June 21,2013 at his home. He was a son of the late Howard Philip and Dorothy Halvey Heat- ter and was employed in the Forest Industry. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Leona Kaczorewski Heat- ter; one daughter, Sandra (Rob) Wardell of Ottowa, IL; two grandchildren, Brandon and Matthew Wardell; and one brother, Craig Heatter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Heatter. There was no funeral service as cremation was chosen. McMurtrey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MAXINE INDIANA - Maxine Emmer Firkins, age 86, of Monti- cello, Indiana, formerly of Edmonton, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Whispering Pines Rehabilitation Center in Monticello. She 'was the daughter of the late Will and El- mer.Bunch. She was married to Riley Baker Firkins who preceded her in death in 1988. Maxine had lived in the Monticello area for over 15 years coming from Edmon- ton, Kentucky. She attended the Church of Christ while in Kentucky. Maxine enjoyed playing Bingo and going on the bus to the seni0r*citizens center in Kentucky. She used to help her late husband Baker on the farm where they had milked cows for several years. She was an amazing cook and was always trying to feed everybody. She is survived by two children,-Betty Stiltz of Mon- ticello and Fred Lee and wife "Maggie Firkins of Monti- cello. Nine grandchildren, three step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Howard Firkins. Two grandchildren, one step grandchild, five sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the New Liberty Cemetery near Edmonton. great- great- grandchildren. Wolney, 85, Cub Run passed away Sunday July 7, 2013 at his home. He was born in West Virginia and had re- tired from Dupont Corporation as a Chemical Operator. He was a Vet- eran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Catholic Faith. He was pre- ceded in death by his parents ,Gabriel Bell Gulley. Funeral services were held 2 pm Sunday, June 3012013 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Chapter # 20 of Glasgow. STEVEN MARK SHOCKLEY GLASGOW Steven Mark Shockley, 49, Glasgow, died Friday, July 5, 2013 as the result of an auto accident in Barren County. He is the son of Marvin and Nell Russell Shockley of Glasgow who survive. Mr. Shockley was an employee of DANA Corp and was a self-em- ployed swimming pool installer. He was a member of the Union #2 Mis- sionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker was a member of the New Salem United Methodist Church and she was named the Barren County Dem- ocratic Woman of the year in 1983. He said "You just got to ride it out" and what a good ride he had. Danny was born in Glasgow, in a log house to Elzie Russell and Edith Ellen Matthews Bailey on September 5, 1941. He graduated from Temple Hill High School in 1960 and married the love of his life, Jane Poynter on July 5, 1962. After deciding that he didn't want to farm, he moved to Louisville to continue being a truck driver. Danny worked various part time jobs as a truck driver including the old Dixie Highway Express and Liquid Transporters. He finally got a full time job at Di- xie Warehouse and CartageCompany in 1964. He worked there ~for 33 years without an accident and retired with a Teamsters Local 89 pension. After a year, he decided that wasn't ready to retire, so he went to work as a school bus driver and mechanic for the Spencer County KY Board of Education. He worked there for ten more years, eventual- ly retiring as the head mechanic, when he was diagnosed with cancer. Danny was a member of the Freemasonry, Sons of the American Rex;Olution, Kentucky Colonel and Taylorsville United Methodist Church. Danny was preceded in death by many friends and family including his parents; big brothers, Jerry Dale and Bobby Larrell, and little sister, Patsy Neal. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Emma Jane Poynter *Bailey; his daughters, Pascal Ellen Bailey and Jana Francine Bailey, and his favorite son, Danny Russell Bailey Jr. He is also survived by his niece, Robin Bailey Gray (David) and their children, Bailey Gray and Barrett Gray, who he loved dearly.
