Samson HosPital. He was : preceded in death by his par- ents, Jesse Barlow Whitaker and Maye Moore Whitaker, and two : brothers, Harold Whitaker and Jess Whitaker. :, He is survived by his wife, Iola Lee Whitaker, a daughter, Carla Allen (Charles), Cave City; a son, David Whitaker (Donna), Glasgow, and six grandchildren, Ben Allen (Jennifer), Lexington, Ky., Madie Doyle (Jason), Cave City, Ky., Laura Kazee (Chris), Prestonsburg, Ky., Jessica Page (Kyle), Elizabethtown, Ky., Andrea Beasley, Knob Lick, Ky., and James Lewis, Glasgow. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. A gathering of family and frierlds will take place on Saturday, January 22nd from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Bob Hunt Funeral Chapel in Cave City to celebrate his life. BobHuntFuneralChapel.com = RITA HUMPHREY HORSE CAVE - Rita Grubbs i Humphrey, 70, of the LeGrande : Community passed away at 6:55 am Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Medco Center of Campbellsville. She was a native of Hart County, a homemaker, she loved working in her yard, and loved hummingbirds and finches. She was a Christian, a member of signed at www. Joyner's Chapel Church where she served as a former pianist. She also served the Three Springs Baptist Church as a former pianist. She was a 28 year breast cancer survivor and had served as a former volunteer and officer of the local American Cancer Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Amos Grubbs and Ruby Lucille Sexton Grubbs and by her loving husband, Lyndon Dale (Tub) Humphrey in 2007. She is survived by two daughters, Alicia Irwin, Campbellsville and Lynette Powell and her husband, Tim, Glasgow; two grandchildren, Katie Irwin and Nate Irwin, both of Campbellsville; one brother, Donald Grubbs and his wife, Bonnie, Bowling Green; one sister, Doris Adams and her husband, Billie, Elizabethtown; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. ANN OANDY BARRICKMAN ATLANTA Ann Gandy ' Barrickman, 90, of'Atlanta, Georgia and former long-time resident of Glasgow, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, in Atlanta after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Uhel O. Barrickman. She was born March 5, 1920 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of the late Arthur Clinton Gandy and Nancy Elizabeth Reed Gandy. The family soon moved to Nicholasville, Kentucky and later to Louisville. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1942 with a degree in library science and worked briefly as a school librarian in Catlettsburg, Kentucky prior to her marriage to Uhel Barrickman in 1943 while he served in the U.S. Army. She lived with ' her parents in Louisville while her husband was stationed in France and Germany during World War II. She and her husband moved to Glasgow in 1948 when he joined the law firm of the late John Richardson. Thereafter she was a homemaker and beloved mother of four children. She was later employed for many years by the Glasgow school district as librarian at the Glasgow Middle School. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church for many years, former member of the Glasgow Garden Club, and worked with various charitable organizations. In addition to her family, her interests included bridge, baking, and needlework. Her kind heart, wit, strength, and integrity were an inspiration to her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years and a sister, Betty Schultz. She is survived by three sons, John Barrickman, Atlanta, Georgia, Don Bamckman (Robyn), Akron, Ohio, and Bruce Barrickman (Janet), Atlanta, Georgia; : i_ : one daughter, Nancy Yelt0n, Lexington, Kentucky; seven :h.: grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother, :r: Joe Gandy, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. ::: Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday,  * January 15, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church. KINNAIRD EDMONTON -R.T. Kinnaird, age 81, of Edmonton died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at T,J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was the son of the late Jakie and Beulah Strange Kinnaird. R.T. was the owner and operator of Kinnaird Supply in Edmonton for ,39"years. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lovie Clark Kinnaird. He is urvived by two daughters, Linda (Leroyce) Barlow of Edmonton and Judy (Tommy) Walker of Bowling Green. Two grandchildren, Danielle (Poppy Franklin) Barlow of Edmonton and Nickkie Walker of Bowling Green. Three great grandchildren, Jaden Franklin, Tristan Franklin and Nikos Ragland. One aunt, Katie Edwards of Greensburg, and a brother-in-law, Lindburgh (Mary) Clark of Indianapolis. Main St,, Edmonton, KY 42129. REV. WAYLAND R. APPLEBY PRICEVILLE - Rev. Wayland R. Appleby, 84, of the Priceville Community, passed away December 24 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late Carl & Lillie Doyle Appleby. He was a retired employee of Ft. Knox. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWlI, a member of the Masonic Lodge #910 F&AM where he was a past master, a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 191, having served as a Worthy Patron. Bro. Wayland was a member of the Cave Hill Baptist Church, an ordained Baptist minister having pastored numerous churches. Survivors include his wife-Magdalene Appleby; two daughters-Christine Cruse, Middletown, OH, Belinda Little, Priceville; three grandchildren-Keith Pedigo, Priceville, Jason Little, St. Charles, Missouri, Craig Smith, Franklin, OH; four great-grandchildren-Kaycee Pedigo, Hannah Dawn Little, Christina Smith and Zachary Smith Fraley; one niece-Donna Appleby, Elizabethtown. CLINT THOMPSON CLINT THOMPSON Clint Thompson, 89, Munfordville passed away Wednesday morning at the Cavema Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Cub Run and the son of the late Lee & Lou Meredith Thompson. Clint retired in 1983 as a Maintenance foreman with the Kentucky State Highway Dept. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. JAMES STANTON MUNFORDVILLE - James Stanton, 81, Munfordville passed away Wednesday morning at the Hospice Center in Bowing Green. He was a native of Grayson County and was the son of the late Samuel Robert Stanton & Dora Ellen Kerr Stanton. James was a retired mechanic & farmer, was a Kentucky Colonel and he was saved at the Broadford Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Jane. LARISSA FAYE BRANHAM GLASGOW - Larissa Faye Branham, 33, Glasgow died Wednesday, January 12,2011 at Vaffderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. Born in Glasgow, she is the daughter Jackie & Cheryl Wells Branham, Glasgow who survive. Larissa was a 1995 graduate of Glasgow High School and a member of the First Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Faye Branham; maternal grandmother Louise Wells; aunts Gall Groce (Billy Joe), Janet Branham and Joan Hudspeth (Mike); uncles Frank R. "Ricky" Wells III (Deborah) and Larry Depp Wells (Penny) all of Glasgow and her special friend, Nicole Cook, Edmonton.
